In 2006, the Federal Government of Nigeria sent out 44 academics mostly Ph.D. holders to the Democratic Republic of Ethiopia under its Technical Aids Corps programme. Apart from offering the technical assistant through lecturing in Ethiopia universities, an association of researchers and reviewers working in Africa was formed (International Association of African Researchers and Reviewers (IAARR), with the sole aim of advertising Africa through academic inputs. To that effect an International journal (African Research Review) was established as the publishing arm of IAARR to publish scholarly research outputs in and on Africa. Its focus is on the broad areas of African Development and issues in various Academic Disciplines.
International Association of African Researchers and Reviewers set goals for itself among which are continuous publications of journals in all fields and having a broad based online data house for all academic journals published within Africa. Today, the association has established five academic journals and has gone on to commence the indexing of journals published in Africa under African Researches Reviews Online -www.arro.net
In recognition of the efforts of the founders of the association who are from Nigeria, the association was incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CAC/IT/NO/40749) in 2010 and a contact office in Nigeria.
